Born on September 3, 1996, in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges, Yoane Wissa is a Congolese international footballer who plays as a left winger or centre-forward for Newcastle United.

From a Congolese family originating in Kongo Central and Grand Équateur, Yoane Wissa has deep ties to the Democratic Republic of Congo.

His grandfather was among the co-founders of the Union for Democracy and Social Progress (UDPS), a historic Congolese political party. Naturalized French on December 26, 2000, following his parents' naturalization, he nevertheless chose to represent the Leopards of the DRC internationally.

Known for his speed, attacking prowess, and versatility, Yoane Wissa distinguished himself in several European leagues before joining Newcastle United. He is also the older brother of Eli Wissa, who is also a footballer.
