The ceremony held at the French Embassy in Brazzaville brought together representatives of the diplomatic corps, Congolese authorities, academics, researchers and several partners in scientific cooperation.

They all came to pay tribute to a woman whose career exemplifies the capacity of African scientific excellence to shine far beyond the continent's borders. Visibly moved, the laureate delivered a humble speech, emphasizing that this distinction transcended her own person. "Upon receiving the insignia of Knight of the French Legion of Honor, I reflected on the journey I have undertaken: the years of study, the challenges, the doubts, the collaborations, the achievements, and above all, the conviction that science can transform lives. This distinction reminds me that no success is individual. Behind every step, there are mentors, colleagues, students, partners, and a family who believed in this vision. I dedicate this moment to them."

For the Congolese Foundation for Medical Research, this distinction also represents recognition of the work accomplished since its creation.
